Recoverability will vary depending on the failure circumstances. However, SecureRecovery for Active Directory provides the best way to restore lost, damaged, corrupt or deleted Active Directory databases.
We offer a free demo version to help you determine whether SecureRecovery for Active Directory is right for you. After downloading the software, you will be able to view a list of recoverable and unrecoverable files.
Please note that in order to protect your data, you must back up your damaged Active Directory databases before running the software.
No. The demo version works the same way, but only recovers a limited number of database objects. It replaces the remaining objects with placeholders.
The full versions of SecureRecovery for Active Directory do not have this limitation and will not create these placeholders. Please note that if the demo output does not show certain database objects, these objects will not be recoverable with the full version of the program.
This is very common and does not necessarily indicate any permanent usability issues with the recovered files.
SecureRecovery for Active Directory replaces permanent file damage with blank space, which can reduce the size of the recovered files (as compared to the original undamaged files). Additionally, some of the original database’s features might not be supported under certain circumstances, and those features would therefore be absent from the output.
Finally, it is important to note that the demo version of the software uses placeholders in place of recoverable database objects. These placeholders are fairly small and reduce the size of the demo files. When you recover your databases using the full version of SecureRecovery for Active Directory, the recovered files will be larger.
This is normal. Unfortunately, SecureRecovery for Active Directory cannot restore original users’ passwords due to API restrictions. Instead, the software converts existing passwords to blank ones.
To protect your data, please remember to change the blank passwords to secure passwords as soon as possible after you have completed the recovery.
Yes, this feature is available if you have the Service or the Enterprise license (it is not available on the Standard license).
Use the following format for a command line call, without angle brackets: adr.exe “”
In the command line, the software supports the modifiers ‘*’ to replace a group of symbols and ‘?’ to replace a single symbol. Be sure to create the directory for the recovered Active Directory databases before running the software from the command line.
